Truth be told, I only entered the beauty business to meet girls. That's what exactly happened. After many years of being in the beauty business, I met my life partner, Cara. We became life & business partners after working side by side for a few years, in Florham Park. I also became a stepdad to her children, Louis & Jacquelyn.

I started in an NYC boutique salon, Melange, located in the Penisula Hotel...yes because of a girl! LOL!  My training and experience were amazing. Once the commute got to me I decided to move back to NJ to Melandre, crazy how it was such a similar name from my first salon. During these years I was so fortunate to be trained by the best, Vidal Sasson plus Toni & Guy, which really helped me hone my skills for haircutting. By the way, I only cut hair, that's how most of NYC works.

I have had the great fortune to have been able to make long-lasting friendships and mentorships which still propel me into my future.

When I'm not at the salon you will find me cooking and entertaining family & friends. Cara and I also love to go out to eat, so if you have some favorite restaurants be sure to share them with me. I'll even share my favorite recipes with you also.
